Client spotlight: RADAR festival

Long-time collaborators RADAR festival are a trio of industrious friends: Catherine Jackson-Smith, Ash Cook, and an old friend of mine, Joe James.

Passionate about progressive music, they’re now in their third year of running RADAR, a 3 day festival celebrating the genre. It started out at Casino nightclub in Guildford, and has blossomed into a three day, 4000 capacity event, moving to Manchester’s o2 Victoria Warehouse 28th-30th July this year with internationally-renowned US act Periphery; & rocketing UK stars Sleep Token.

We’ve worked on a few applications together - our first successful Arts Council England project grant for £20,000 to promote their fantastic Masterclass programme - a strand within the festival itself that brings audiences even closer to these critically acclaimed acts - with Periphery hosting a full-band Q&A alongside Mike Malyan & John Brown (Monuments) and others giving exclusive insights into their creative process.

Our second successful Arts Council project grant was for, of course, their stacked line-up of acts: showcasing talent from the Manchester music scene, established acts from across the UK and overseas; to create a stellar line-up of who’s who in the progressive genre. We secured £25,000 towards this ambitious, bold line-up of artists: Igorr, Haken, Perturbator, Heart of a Coward, Loathe, alongside emerging artists to develop and inspire a new, diverse generation of artists.
